Hometown Heroes Event

 Franklin County Hometown Heroes Event. This event is a celebration of our Veterans and Public Safety Personnel. This event honors & celebrates those who serve and protect us daily. What better way as a community to come together and recognize our hometown heroes.

It is a full day packed with a lot of love! WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need volunteers & we need your help sharing this information! Please share this post with your family and friends. 9-10 AM Dedication Ceremony for the Franklin County Veterans Memorial, Public Safety Memorial, & the unveiling of The Blue & Gold Star Memorial Markers. This portion will be held at the Franklin County Courthouse in Carnesville, Georgia
(9592 Lavonia Rd, Carnesville, GA 30521)

Master of Ceremony is Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Fowler and Special Guest Speaker is Kendra Lou Pieper. She is a Former Paratrooper @ 173rd Special Troops Battalion.

The Celebration portion of the event will take place on Hull Ave in Carnesville. Most of Hull Avenue will be closed. Parking will be at top of Hull Avenue and overflow at the Rocky Ford Recreation Center.
*Reserved Handicap Parking at Peach State Credit Union.*

11 AM Parade of Veterans & Public Safety Personnel from all Franklin County Community and Partners. Franklin County’s eldest veteran will be our Grand Marshal and we have several honorary marshals.

12-6 PM Community Event & Music.

12-1 PM Lavonia VFW Post 5897’s Fire in the Hole Pepper eating contest! Contact them for more information to sign up!

1-2 PM Pie in the Face for Commissioners & More!

6-6:30 PM Fireworks & Candle Service

This is an outdoor event.   Free entry to the public.
