Minutes from February 15, 2024 meeting

Chairperson Cindy Banks called the meeting to order.

Invocation was led by Angela Whidby

There was no old business to discuss.

New business:

A. Early voting will begin on Monday February 19-Friday March 8, 2024

B. Qualifying will be held on Monday March 4-Friday March 8

C. New pad locks have been installed on all the inside room doors in the building. This is to insure the voting equipment is kept in a safe place.

D. Signs have been placed in Lavonia at the old and the new precinct. 

E. We mailed out 55 absentee ballots and 1 UOCAVA ballot as of 2/15/24

F. Robo calls and text was brought to our attention when several of us received text over the weekend. Angela Whidby read the text aloud and we discussed the manner. None of the text were sent from the elections office and we just advised that careful attention was needed if you did receive one. 

G. Jobs for the upcoming election

          1. Absentee Ballots- all the board members will open and count

          2.Vote review and duplicate panel- One member from each party is all we will need for this election.

          3. Removing the ballots from the AIP scanner, Sherry MacDonald and Marie Whitworth will be in charge.

          4. Gathering memory cards from deputies as they arrive, Cindy Banks will be in charge.

H. I will research live streaming from Rocky Ford Rec Dept for the May election.

Next meeting will be held on March 14, 2024 to certify the March 12 , 2024 election. There will be no formal meeting that day, only certifying of the election.
