Mission

Provide the highest quality services in a fiscally responsible manner to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of all Franklin County citizens.

Responsibilities

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners is the county governing authority as provided by state law. The Board is vested with a budget and taxing authority, an ordinance making authority, and control of county property, roads, and facilities.

Meetings

The Board conducts regular monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Justice Center. They also conduct their monthly work sessions on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Justice Center.

Terms of Office

The chairman and commissioners are elected at-large for staggered terms of four years.
