Fire Services

Franklin County Fire Services covers an area of 266 square miles. The county has Mutual Aid agreements to assist fire departments in bordering counties in Georgia and South Carolina. All stations have Automatic Aid agreements with each other plus Automatic Aid with Stephens County to help bordering areas.  

Franklin County Fire Services consists of 12 volunteer fire stations and 1 substation. Three of these stations provide rescue such as auto Extrication Rescue. 

Each of these stations proudly provides fire suppression, hazardous materials response, fire prevention training, and community education programs to residents and visitors of Franklin County. Each Fire Station is fully equipped to meet all standards and state requirements. 

All Franklin County Fire Stations are volunteer firefighters. Franklin County has over 200 volunteers who support these fire services. The volunteers are Franklin County and local citizens. Each of these dedicated men and women must meet all the state requirements.
There is also a pension plan for firefighters in Georgia.

Mission Statement Franklin County Firefighters Association:
Franklin County Firefighters Association provides all Volunteer Franklin County fire and rescue departments the resources needed to meet the ever-changing needs of our community while ensuring a safe and secure environment for all through educational development, coordination, and hands-on training resources.

Goals and Objectives Franklin County Firefighters Association:
The Firefighters Association will provide, operational coordination, educational opportunities, and resources to enable our volunteer members to:

  • Protect lives and property through fire suppression.
  • Provide emergency medical response through the first responder program.
  • Provide disaster management in the event of county-wide emergencies.
  • Disseminate information concerning fire prevention.
